This lovely april month, I've taken upon myself to do a bit of work on the ticket system! When a customer goes to the register, the order is taken and a ticket is put on the line.
Currently, you can zoom the ticket in and out. The tickets pull from a global menu of drinks, so the customer can pick what they like from available drinks and then the ticket is populated with modifiers and preferences.
This system will be great for recurring characters. I'm hopefully going to be adding some fun characters who have their own drink preferences and are regulars. They will generally stick with their own orders so the player knows straight away what is going to be ordered! I think this regular customer dynamic will be a fun system to play out.
This isn't just gonna be good customers... There was actually a customer when I was a barista who would come in and sit in one of our chairs, not buying anything. They would just use your electric and wi-fi and if you didn't kick them out they'd be sat there all day!

Where are you looking???
Well would you look at that... They now know how to queue! You can't really see their heads.. (temporary character models). They also queue around physics layers so if you put a chair randomly in your cafe, they're just gonna queue around your chair... pretty awesome... and unfortunately realistic...
The reality of queues are that as much as we would like for people to queue "Correctly", in reality people don't!
