Hello ! My name is Joe

Welcome to Signal Rain! My name is Joe, I'm a solo developer from the UK. I work in IT during the day but by night I'm a raging alcoholic! That was a joke... By night I'm actually creating a game I've code named Barvista.

The idea for Barvista actually came to me while I was working in a coffee shop during my time at University. I loved making coffee and wanted people to enjoy it as well. I actually loved teaching the trainee's latte art (maybe I should've been a teacher instead!).

I'd sat on the idea of it for a few years, until I decided to run with it. I was making some small mods in Project Zomboid but as the game kept getting updated it was becoming almost impossible to keep up with all the patch updates I had to do!

I had an internal monologue with myself...

"Why am I spending all this time patching a game that is refusing to play ball? I could just make my own game and then all updates would be in my own control..."

Barvista is a coffee-making simulator that asks: what if Cooking Mama and Project Zomboid had a baby?

Imagine the isometric style and depth of Zomboid, but swap the undead hordes for hordes of caffeine-deprived customers (who are basically zombies anyway). It’s a cozy yet complex management experience.

All coffee recipes have mini games to complete in order for the drinks to be made for the customer. Complex drinks could have up to 5 mini games... so you'll be busy!

In addition, challenges will meet the player.. from difficult customers, to pets leaving their mark on your lovely cafe floors. You will need to manage orders, customer satisfaction and the cleanliness of your shop. Forgot to order coffee beans on your delivery? No coffee is being served today!

Release Date

I haven't yet released an official release date for Barvista as of yet. I do know however, that it'll be releasing on Steam! So when that happens I'll be nagging you to wishlist it!

Until then, If you'd like to see my development progress, I release Devlogs on here about what I've been up to. If you're interested click on my awesome redirect button below (hell yeah, website things!)
